Talented writers will be introduced to book industry people such as agents and publishers as part of the course.
CREATIVE NON-FICTION AND MEMOIR You will acquire the ability to write non-fiction. If you want to write books or screenplays based on events in your life or focusing on a special interest of yours, this is the advanced course for you. Would-be journalists or biographers should start with the basic course and then choose this option.
ADVANCED SCREENWRITING Screenwriting is a special skill, quite different from writing fiction or stage plays. As well as knowing the fundamental techniques of creating great characters and wonderful plots, talented writers need a host of techniques that turn a good idea into the basis for a brilliant movie. Unlike the west, which is over-run with would-be screenwriters, almost all countries in Asia have a shortage of good screen material. This is the time and the place to launch a screenwriting career.
COMPUTER GAME CREATOR Computer games are the new movies, some people say. You will learn about the very different structures that a writer in the computer game industry has to use. You will become familiar with computer story techniques and meet people producing games for Xbox and Playstation.
SUCCESS IN CHILDREN'S LITERATURE Many people can put together a story that entertains children. But there's a huge difference between spinning a cute tale for a youngster and creating an enchanted, alternative world that captures the imagination of society and makes literary history. Learn how to lift your story creation skills to a level where you are winning publishing contracts and creating magic that can be marketed world-wide.
COMIC BOOK CREATION Comic books are no longer thought of as just kids' stuff. They are serious literary art, with numerous styles and sub-genres of their own. Learn how to write stories for comic books, and meet people in the business.
ALL COURSES FEATURE THE TRANSMEDIA FACTOR Talented graduates of all courses above are taught how to refine their skills for a CGI (computer-generated images) world.
