A 17-year-old girl joins a feng shui consultancy to get material for a school project and expects to spend her time moving furniture around. But she discovers that her employer C.F. Wong specializes in doing feng shui readings at scenes of crime. Studying the harmonies and energies at places where murders or other offences have taken place turns out to be an intriguing way to solve mysteries faster than the police can. The opening story, "Scarlet in a Study" neatly reverses the first Sherlock Holmes story (which was called "A Study in Scarlet") showing how this book cleverly inverts the conventions of the detective genre. Format: Short stories.
